El gran legado musical de Bruce Springsteen
Mucho más que música
Hace unas fechas se convirtió en el primer compositor no británico en ser premiado por la Academia Ivor Novello. De la mano de otro ilustre de la música contemporánea como Paul McCartney, quien ha anunciado una próxima gira con parada en España, Bruce Springsteen fue motivo de un nuevo reconocimiento a su larga, intensa y valorada carrera artística. Y el pasado 12 de junio inició el cantautor de Nueva Jersey su escala de cinco actuaciones en nuestro país en el tour que comenzó el 19 de marzo en Phoenix (Arizona) y que acabará en Milán (Italia) el 3 de julio de 2025. Venía, precisamente, de suspender sus dos citas en la ciudad italiana así como en Marsella y Praga por problemas de salud.
Cinco fechas ha tenido en España el autor de temas como ‘Born To Run’, repartidas entre el Cívitas Metropolitano de Madrid (tres, el referido 12, el 14 y el 17) y el estadio olímpico Lluís Companys de Barcelona (dos, el 20 y el 22).
Una creación inmensa
Mucho se ha dicho y escrito sobre el paso de un huracán como Bruce Springsteen y la incombustible E Street Band por España. No vamos a ahondar más en algo que ha supuesto una de las más grandilocuentes campañas de loas por parte de la crítica y de un público enfervorecido, que en muchos casos ha repetido espectáculo, siendo testigo de varios conciertos e incluso viviéndolos tanto en Madrid como en Barcelona.
Nos vamos a parar en Gatrópolis en algo que llama poderosamente la atención como es el enorme y rico repertorio de temas que el de Freehold ha puesto sobre los escenarios en España. Una variada lista de canciones han hecho las delicias de los fans y hasta de la misma prensa, quienes han realizado quinielas sobre cuál iba a ser el setlist cada día. A sus maratonianas actuaciones de tres horas, con una media de 30 temas, les ha añadido esta vez las incorporaciones que ha hecho en cada uno de los cinco días. Sobre una base sólida en la que han estado siempre ‘Lonesome Day’, ‘Badlands’, ‘Born To Run’, ‘Thunder Road’, ‘The Promised Land’, ‘The River’, ‘Nightshift’ (su versión de la creación de The Commodores), ‘Last Man Standing’ o ‘Because The Night’, ha añadido otros temas, haciendo un alarde de catálogo impropio en el mundo musical. De esta forma, Bruce Springsteen ha exhibido una capacidad excelsa a la hora de ofrecer su repertorio y les ha dado la razón a sus seguidores, quienes con orgullo repiten hasta la saciedad que nunca son iguales dos conciertos del Boss.

De hecho, aprovechamos para recordarles a los lectores que en 2021 batió el récord que ostentaba otro mítico de la escena musical como Bob Dylan, al vender su catálogo de canciones y los derechos de publicación del mismo a Sony Music por una cifra muy superior, unos 500 millones de dólares; la mayor transacción a día de hoy.
Los cinco setlists en España
A continuación, para los curiosos, exponemos las cinco listas de temas que Bruce Springsteen ha puesto en liza en los días que ha actuado en España.
Cabe destacar que ha interpretado 52 canciones distintas en cinco noches, haciendo un total de 153 interpretaciones. 17 son las que ha repetido en cada actuación, como base, lo que quiere decir que cada día ha variado su setlist con respecto al anterior con unos 13 temas.
La gran mayoría son creaciones suyas, aunque ha incorporado cinco que suele cantar y que pertenecen a otros artistas: ‘Twist and Shout’ (The Top Notes), ‘Trapped’ (Jimmy Cliff), ‘Nightshift’ (The Commodores), ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’ (John Fogerty) y ‘Because The Night’ (Patti Smith).
